Kingsthorpe Jets Buccaneers produced a determined performance away to Blisworth Belles U13, narrowly losing 2-1 in the league.
Blisworth opened the scoring, but the Buccaneers responded superbly. The girls pressed high, won a corner and Chloe delivered a fantastic ball that went directly into the net to level the match before half-time.
The Buccaneers continued to battle after the break, creating chances and combining well through Misia and Maddie. Blisworth took their opportunity to regain the lead, but the Jets continued to fight until the final whistle.
With only eight players available, every member of the team gave everything. Their resilience, togetherness and communication were outstanding throughout the match.
There was no specific Player of the Match, as every player produced a committed performance. The POTM award was shared across the whole team in recognition of their resilience, togetherness and effort.
There was plenty to be proud of, with the girls showing a fantastic attitude and great resilience. They can take a lot of confidence from this performance as they continue to build through the season.
The Buccaneers now look forward to their first home fixture against GLK United U13 Pinks on Saturday, 26 September.
A special thank you to the Buccaneers’ team sponsors, OCM Wealth Management and Vermeer UK, for their continued support.
