The 2026 Kingsthorpe Jets Summer Football Tournament was another huge weekend for the club, and the numbers really show the scale of what took place.
Across the tournament, we saw an incredible 4,854 minutes of football played, with 1,025 players taking part across 103 teams. In total, there were 584 games played and a brilliant 818 goals scored, making it a weekend packed with action from start to finish.
Those numbers tell the story of a tournament full of energy, commitment and enjoyment. From the first kick-off to the final whistle, players gave everything on the pitch, coaches kept teams organised and encouraged, and families and supporters helped create a fantastic atmosphere throughout the event. It was grassroots football at its best, with hundreds of young players getting the chance to compete, develop, enjoy the game and make memories.
The scale of the weekend is something the club can be really proud of. Hosting more than 100 teams and over 1,000 players takes a huge amount of planning, organisation and teamwork behind the scenes. From setting up pitches and managing fixtures to supporting teams, helping visitors and keeping the tournament running smoothly, it was a real club effort.
On the pitch, the football did not disappoint. With 818 goals across 584 games, there was no shortage of excitement, close contests, big moments and memorable finishes. Every team played their part in making the tournament such a success, and it was brilliant to see so many players enjoying their football in a positive and competitive environment.
It was also a successful weekend for Kingsthorpe Jets teams, who came away with a fantastic haul of achievements, including 5 Cup wins, 5 Plate wins and 3 Fair Play Awards. Those successes reflect not only the quality shown by our players, but also the attitude, teamwork and sportsmanship that run through the club.
The Fair Play Awards are especially important to recognise. Trophies and medals are always brilliant moments, but seeing Jets teams acknowledged for the way they conduct themselves is something the whole club can take pride in. Respect, effort and sportsmanship matter, and those awards show that our players represented the club in the right way.
A huge thank you goes to every team that joined us, every coach, parent, supporter, referee, volunteer and sponsor who helped make the tournament possible. Events like this only happen because of the time, energy and support of so many people, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part.
The 2026 tournament has given us another weekend to remember. With thousands of minutes played, hundreds of games completed and goals flying in across the pitches, it was a brilliant celebration of grassroots football and the Kingsthorpe Jets community.
